Altrippa
[/dfd_heading][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”5/6″][vc_column_text]
Welcome to Altrippa
Welcome to a region in crisis. The state of Kyapera has collapsed, forcing millions of its citizens to flee the country. The governments of its neighbors are growing wary as migrants begin their escape to the north. Participants in this simulation will take on the role of cabinet ministers, such as Prime Minister, Home Office Secretary, and others.
Together, they will try to manage the migrant influx. There is also a region treaty organization, the Altrippa Treaty Group. One member of each team will be the delegate to this international body. This team member will be responsible for coordinating a regional response–if the other nations agree to it.

Those that are officially recognized as refugees are entitled to all the protections that international agreements demand, whereas those accepted under Subsidiary or Humanitarian Protection are not. Sometimes this means that migrants under Subsidiary or Humanitarian Protection must renew their visas more often, or do not have access to the same support as accepted refugees. The simulation reflects the tenuous status of these lower levels of protection by having certain policies broken up into different levels for Refugees, Subsidiary, and Humanitarian Protection. Accepting migrants under the lower levels results in lower discord per refugee, but also a lower human rights score. The Home Secretary can adjust the proportion of asylum applicants accepted under each status using the ‘Protection Status Balance’ policy. The game assumes that all migrants are renewing their visas.” ic_dfd_icons=”dfd-socicon-correct-symbol” main_border=”border_style:none” icon_size=”14″ main_style=”style-1″ undefined=”” background_fild=”#ffffff” tutorials=””][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Discord” tab_id=”1622515725647-eac4541f-3ee3″][dfd_announcement content_announcement=”Discord is a a measure of how a country’s residents feel about the government’s refugee policies.
